Spoon-billed Sandpiper:106 at Rudong!

A very short update sent out to members of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper Task Force on October 25th includes a count of 106 Spoon-billed Sandpiper at Rudong this southward migration. This confirms (once more) that Rudong on the Chinese Yellow Sea coast is the most important remaining staging site for this Critically Endangered species anywhere on the Flyway . Congratulations to the wonderful team of Menxiu Tong and colleagues for gathering and sharing these important data so promptly – helping to raise international awareness about this still-threatened key site.
