Counts of Scaly-sided Merganser in the Yeoncheon Imjin River Flyway Network Site

In 2025, Birds Korea successfully applied for a small grant from the EAAFP, to help support our counts of the globally Endangered Scaly-sided Merganser 호사비오리 along the Imjin River in Yeoncheon.

The small grant was used (1) to fund a high-frequency of counts of Scaly-sided Merganser, especially along 21km of the Imjin River in Yeoncheon County between October 2025 and April 2026; (2) to produce designs for signboards that could help to explain about this remarkable species and the river they depend on; and (3) to support the writing of a report that could present the count data.
