Bird news from Tim Edelsten
Very spring-like, a warm 12 degrees Celsius. On the regular berry trees (very heavily-laden this year), only Brown-eared Bulbuls were to be seen. There seems to have been an apparent total absence of finches, thrushes, waxwings and other irruptive species this winter.

Magpies are already nestbuilding, with a small flimsy platform of twigs gradually being added to. Eurasian Teal are in immaculate breeding plumage on the local stream.

A charm of about ten Grey-capped Greenfinches were twittering cheerfully, already paired-up.
