{"id":8015,"date":"2013-03-25T23:50:43","date_gmt":"2013-03-25T14:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=8015"},"modified":"2013-03-25T23:50:43","modified_gmt":"2013-03-25T14:50:43","slug":"aphae-island-march-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=8015","title":{"rendered":"Aphae Island, March 25"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bird News from Andreas Kim<\/p>\n<p>The afternoon visit to the tidal-flats of Aphae showed no birds on the northern tidal-flat; very strong wind and waves from the sea-side had pushed all birds of the site.<\/p>\n<p>The southern tital-flat filled more and more with the incoming tide. The birds were mostly within two flocks, one c. 800<strong>Dunlin<\/strong>\u00a0and a mixed flock of 92\u00a0<strong>Bar-tailed Godwit<\/strong>, one with a white leg-flag, 29\u00a0<strong>Great Knot<\/strong>\u00a0and c. 40\u00a0<strong>Eurasian Curlew<\/strong>. About 30 more\u00a0<strong>Curlews<\/strong>\u00a0were feeding on the mud. A\u00a0<strong>Common Kestrel<\/strong>\u00a0flew over and while the &#8220;bigger&#8221; birds kept calm, all Dunlin flew off and the Kestrel unsuccessfully chaised the flock for a short while.
