A frigid, windy dawn and several great species awaited us at the Nakdong River.  A distant, shimmering scope view of two <strong>Steller\u2019s Sea Eagles<\/strong> was a great way to start the day &#8211; their stocky and imposing presence was evident even at a distance.  Also along this stretch were three <strong>White-tailed Sea Eagles<\/strong>, several <strong>Eurasian Curlew<\/strong>, a <strong>Eurasian Oystercatcher<\/strong>, and a healthy assemblage of gulls.<br \/>\n  Closer to Dadaepo, a <strong>Light-vented Bulbul<\/strong> was spotted mixed in with a large flock of <strong>Brown-eared Bulbuls<\/strong> roiling through the treetops.  This represents the first record of Light-vented Bulbul for the Busan area, more evidence of a species steadily colonizing the ROK.  Dadaepo was fairly quiet, with several <strong>Eurasian Bullfinch<\/strong> and <strong>Pale Thrush<\/strong> in evidence.<br \/>\n  At Junam, we quickly spotted nine <strong>Swan Geese<\/strong>, a great sight to watch as they broke through ice in the fields to feed.  Also of note at Junam were nine <strong>White-naped Crane<\/strong>, five <strong>White-tailed Sea Eagles<\/strong>, and several rotund <strong>Brambling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?attachment_id=7198\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7198\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/dec23_swangoose_joonam2012-0132-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/dec23_swangoose_joonam2012-0132-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/dec23_swangoose_joonam2012-0132.jpg 1833w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Swan Goose<\/strong> <em>Anser cygnoides<\/em>.
