Due to disturbance, birds flushed on several occasions at high tide on both days of the survey, including <strong>Spoon-billed Sandpiper<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, 6 individual <strong>Spoon-billed Sandpipers<\/strong> were recorded, (juv., post-breeding, non-breeding). Also recorded was one <strong>Nordmann&#8217;s Greenshank<\/strong> on the morning of the second foraging near one of the Spoonies.<\/p>\n<p>Other species observed included between 15-20 <strong>Saunders&#8217;s Gulls<\/strong> on both days, <strong>Dunlin<\/strong>, <strong>Terek Sandpiper<\/strong>, <strong>Red-necked Stint<\/strong>, <strong>Grey Plover<\/strong>, <strong>Mongolian Plover<\/strong>, <strong>Greater Sand Plover<\/strong>, <strong>Kentish Plover<\/strong>, a few <strong>Broad-billed Sandpiper<\/strong>, <strong>Common Greenshank<\/strong>, one <strong>Common Redshank<\/strong>, one <strong>Grey-tailed Tattler<\/strong>, a flock of close to 900 <strong>Far Eastern Curlew<\/strong>, including some <strong>Eurasian Curlew<\/strong>, a couple hundred <strong>Far Eastern Oystercatchers<\/strong>, and two <strong>Bar-tailed Godwits<\/strong>. <strong>Bean Geese<\/strong> were on the tidal flat in the early morning hours of the 2nd, with a few flocks of up to 40 <strong>Greater White-fronted Geese<\/strong> flying over in V-form. Also interesting was an <strong>Oriental Honey Buzzard<\/strong> flying in a southern direction in the early morning of the same date. Other raptors included 2 <strong>Peregrine Falcon<\/strong>, a <strong>Eurasian Hobby<\/strong>, a <strong>Kestrel<\/strong>, and an <strong>Osprey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the island, a <strong>Long-tailed Shrike<\/strong>, <strong>Bull-headed Shrike<\/strong>, <strong>Yellow-browed Warbler<\/strong>, <strong>Oriental Reed Warbler<\/strong>, <strong>Great-spotted Woodpecker<\/strong>, <strong>Grey-headed Woodpecker<\/strong>, <strong>Mugimaki Flycatcher<\/strong>, <strong>Black-faced Bunting<\/strong>, <strong>Eastern Yellow Wagtail<\/strong>, and pipits in flight calling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bird News by Jason Loghry Surveying Yubu-do most specifically for Spoon-billed Sandpiper, some difficulty was had as human pressure was notably high.
