Waterfowl in the unfrozen parts included the usual <strong>Spot-Billed Ducks<\/strong> and <strong>Mallards<\/strong>. There were also a group of <strong>Rooks<\/strong> on the frozen part of the reservoir. There is a construction project going on in the South-East part of the reservoir but in the adjoining rice fields there were about 200~300<strong> Bean Geese<\/strong>. Also present in the rice stubble, were several flocks of <strong>Skylarks<\/strong> (Northern or Japanese?) and <strong>Oriental Turtle Doves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>Great Egret<\/strong> was flying around. There were also 2 <strong>Mongolian Gulls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?attachment_id=3172\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3172\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/IMG_4635-e1329268705107.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"White-backed Woodpecker\" width=\"573\" height=\"425\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3172\" \/><\/a><center><strong>White-backed Woodpecker <em>Dendrocopos leucotos<\/em>. Photo \u00a9 Subhojit Chakladar<\/strong><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Other highlights of the couple of hours spent there in late afternoon included a playful <strong>Marsh Tit<\/strong> (along with several <strong>Great Tits<\/strong>), a <strong>Great Spotted Woodpecker<\/strong>, a <strong>Common Kestrel<\/strong> and a <strong>Dusky Thrush<\/strong>.
