Dr. Bernhard Seliger (Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea, Birds Korea)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taejongdae Park is a landmark in Western Busan, with a long, royal history, and quite popular with visitors and the usual noise related to them. It is also a key birding site in Busan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not too many species, and surprisingly (for me) completely empty sea, beside a flock of Black-tailed Gulls and a single Gray Heron at the rocks West of the park. Not a single duck or cormorant. Maybe, because there were many fishermen? Or is it usual at this time of the year, are they all on breeding sites in the North?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the park, lots and lots of Large-billed crows, and an assortment of small passerines like Warbling White-eyes, Great tits, Long-tailed Tits, a single Yellow-bellied tit, Blue-and-white flycatcher, Yellow-throated Bunting, a few thrushes, two Chinese (Yellow-billed) Grosbeaks and on the rocks everywhere Blue Rock Thrushes. In the rocks a Peregrine falcon, obviously breeding nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, it was a pleasant morning walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
