{"id":25472,"date":"2022-01-21T10:48:15","date_gmt":"2022-01-21T01:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=25472"},"modified":"2022-01-21T13:21:33","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T04:21:33","slug":"survey-in-yudo-on-january-19-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=25472","title":{"rendered":"Survey in Yu-do (islet) on January 19, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Bernhard Seliger and Dr. Hyun-Ah Choi (Birds Korea, Hanns Seidel Foundation) with Ji-Ye Chun and Hyeong-Seo Kim (Hanns Seidel Foundation)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In rather inclement weather conditions \u2013 cold and snowing half the day \u2013 this survey brought overall much reduced bird numbers, in particular numbers of geese, compared to the December survey. With 4000 geese (almost half of them Tundra Bean Geese and Greater White-Fronted Geese) the number was only two thirds of that of December, with no Swan Geese visible; probably many migrated further South. Also, Han River was full with drifting ice and almost no gulls or ducks were visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the number of small birds, in particular buntings, seems to have increased a lot, with among others more than 400 Rustic Buntings, a globally vulnerable species seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find the full list at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
