{"id":23033,"date":"2020-02-26T16:29:51","date_gmt":"2020-02-26T07:29:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=23033"},"modified":"2020-02-26T16:29:52","modified_gmt":"2020-02-26T07:29:52","slug":"along-the-han-and-imjin-river-in-paju-gyeonggi-province-february-15-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=23033","title":{"rendered":"Along the Han and Imjin River in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, February 15, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ongoing development of construction\nand small-scale industry, but also recent events like the sanitation of large\nstretches of Imjin River to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever are\nlikely reasons for an ever-increasing concentration of cranes inside the\nremaining parts of the Civilian Control Zone (i.e. the zone where civilian\nmovements are controlled by the military, very close to the DMZ). On this short\ntrip, which did not lead into the DMZ, only two families of <strong>White-naped cranes<\/strong> were seen, one close\nto Imjingak, one across Imjin river nearby Jangpa-ri. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, there were at least eight <strong>White-tailed Sea Eagles<\/strong> and 21 <strong>Cinereous Vultures<\/strong> in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The adjacent fields of Jajang-Ri, though\nnot easy to navigate, were feeding areas of several thousand <strong>Greater White-Fronted Geese<\/strong> and <strong>Tundra Bean Geese<\/strong>, plus one <strong>Snow Goose<\/strong>.
