Bird news from Subhojit Chakladar<\/p>\n

A boat trip from Daejin and a few hours of birding around the harbor in the wonderful company of Dr Nial Moores (and his guest) and the members of the University Birding Club produced quite a few nice birds. For me the highlight of the trip was to be able to finally get great looks at a Yellow-billed Loon<\/strong> – a bird that has eluded me for several years. A lot of Arctic Loons<\/strong> and Red-necked Grebes<\/strong> were also present. Other good birds from the boat were close views of Rhinoceros Auklet<\/strong> and Spectacled Guillemot<\/strong>. The highlight on land was a flock of Japanese<\/strong> and Bohemian Waxwings<\/strong> that were basking in the sun on tree tops and flying around in a very woodswallowy manner. It was wonderful to see them in the same frame and be able to directly compare the morphological differences.<\/p>\n
