Bird News from Nial Moores<\/p>\n

Following what appears to be a record-breakingly hot summer, the first few signs of autumn migration in East Busan have included a First Calendar-year Black Paradise Flycatcher<\/strong> in the main gully at Igidae on August 22nd; large numbers of Streaked Shearwater<\/strong> moving north on 27th (with 485 counted moving north in only 20 minutes and with the movement continuing for 2-3 hours), when several duck flocks also seen moving south;\u00a0 several Arctic<\/strong> and Kamchatka Leaf Warblers<\/strong> daily from 28th onward; several groups of shorebird seen moving south during brief looks at the sea (<30minutes\/ day) from 30th, including two Far Eastern Curlew<\/strong> on 31st and perhaps 20 Great Knot<\/strong> on September 1st; 2+ Grey-streaked Flycatcher<\/strong> and single Northern Boobook<\/strong>,\u00a0 Yellow-rumped Flycatcher<\/strong> and Pale-legged Legged\/Sakhalin Leaf Warbler<\/strong> in the main Igidae gully on September 1st;\u00a0 and 100+ Red-necked Phalarope<\/strong> off the Gwangali Big Bridge at lunchtime on the 3rd, either in the tail end of typhoon Lionrock (which entered the East Sea as a major rain-maker or ahead of typhoon Namtheun, now off western Kyushu).<\/p>\n
