{"id":17870,"date":"2016-04-13T10:16:02","date_gmt":"2016-04-13T01:16:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=17870"},"modified":"2016-04-13T10:16:02","modified_gmt":"2016-04-13T01:16:02","slug":"busan-and-geoje-april-4-7-9-and-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.birdskoreablog.org\/?p=17870","title":{"rendered":"Busan and Geoje, April 4, 7, 9 and 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bird News from Nial Moores, with Marco della Seta on 9th and 10th<\/p>\n<p>Some time spent looking at favoured sites (Igidae, Taejongdae, Dadaepo and off Geoje) for early spring Japan-bound migrants in largely sunny conditions and very mild or even warm conditions, with the exception of rain overnight on the 6<sup>th<\/sup> through much of the 7<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Heavy rain over southern China during much of this period seems to have held migration up to some extent.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to very small numbers of <strong>Eurasian Siskin<\/strong>, <strong>Brambling<\/strong> and <strong>Barn Swallow<\/strong> and <strong>Pacific Swift <\/strong>at two or more sites, species of most note included <strong>Pacific Reef Egret<\/strong> (one on 9<sup>th<\/sup> at Igidae);\u00a0 <strong>Pacific Loon<\/strong> (at least 35 off Geoje on 10<sup>th<\/sup>); <strong>Black Woodpigeon<\/strong> (one heard and one seen off Geoje on 10<sup>th<\/sup>); <strong>Japanese Waxwing<\/strong> (28 on 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 80 on 7<sup>th<\/sup> and 35-40 on 9<sup>th<\/sup> at Igidae); \u00a0<strong>Yellow-bellied Tit <\/strong>(one seen and perhaps another heard off Geoje on the 9<sup>th<\/sup>); <strong>Light-vented Bulbul<\/strong> (two on 9<sup>th<\/sup> at Igidae); <strong>Asian Stubtail<\/strong> (first one on 4<sup>th<\/sup> in Igidae; several heard on subsequent days);<strong> Eastern Crowned Warbler<\/strong> (first on 7<sup>th<\/sup>, when at least six in Igidae); <strong>Grey-backed Thrush<\/strong> (first on 7<sup>th<\/sup>); <strong>Grey Thrush <\/strong>(one male on 7<sup>th<\/sup> and single probables heard on 9<sup>th<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup>); <strong>Brown-headed Thrush<\/strong> (one on 7<sup>th<\/sup> and probably two on \u00a09<sup>th<\/sup>);\u00a0 <strong>Narcissus Flycatcher<\/strong> (singles heard only in 9<sup>th<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup>);
