The international Spoon-billed Sandpiper Task Force is still keen to receive all records of Spoon-billed Sandpiper<\/strong> in the ROK in order to help refine understanding of this Critically Endangered species’ population trend and movements.<\/p>\n

In return they can help with providing a history of most of the marked birds that are seen, including these two photographed by Chai Seung-Hoon in the Geum Estuary on September 28th this year, images kindly shared with Birds Korea:<\/p>\n

“Based on the information\u00a0provided by Pavel Tomkovich & Ronlad Digby the white flag – U6<\/b>\u00a0hatched in an incubator on 11 July, released in the wild near Meinypilgyno, Chukotka on 29 July where it was last seen on 5 August. The\u00a0yellow flagged<\/b> bird \u00a0had to be marked at west-central Kamchatka, Russia, in August during their southward passage.”<\/span><\/p>\n
