Photo \u00a9 Hiroshi Tomida\/Birds Korea.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although it is now more than a week since the day of our most auspicious observations of the Critically Endangered <em>Eurynorhynchus pygmeus<\/em>, my eyes can&#8217;t help but scan everything in front of them.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow researcher Hiroshi Tomida-san first pointed out this &#8216;phenomenon&#8217; at dinner, as we both unconsciously examined the shoreline of the painting on the wall. From sunrise to sunset, following the tide in and out, our eyes swept through flocks of hundreds, even thousands of birds for one particular species.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/30422286?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong><\/a>Taking a stroll. This was sometimes comical; other times terrifying.
