Bird News from Johan Kok<\/strong><\/p>\n

I drove up from Dong-gu in Ulsan along the coast to just north of Jujeon beach, stopping at every harbour town looking for seabirds.\u00a0 I returned via Buk-gu, stopping on the upper\u00a0town\u00a0section of the Taewhagang for some waterbirds.\u00a0\u00a0 Along the coast interesting sightings included small flocks of Grey-capped Greenfinch<\/strong>,\u00a0Brambling<\/strong>, Yellow-throated bunting<\/strong> and Japanese White-eye\u00a0<\/strong>plus\u00a04 species of gull – Black-tailed<\/strong>, Vega<\/strong>, Slaty-backed<\/strong> and Glaucous gull<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m not particularly great on the gulls yet so have a look at the photos and let me know if I’ve made any errors. The Taewhagang section was great, with 6 Common Merganser<\/strong>\u00a0a highlight for me.\u00a0 Besides the usuals a Bull-headed Shrike<\/strong>, Common Moorhen<\/strong>, Eurasian Teal<\/strong> and Black-crowned Night Heron<\/strong> were nice sightings as well.<\/p>\n
