We positioned ourselves for seawatching at <em>Jaeger Point<\/em>, which is one of the northernmost headlands near Haeundae. There were birds on the move but not in high numbers. We saw between 50-100 <strong>Streaked Shearwater<\/strong>, 75-100 <strong>Common Tern<\/strong>, 1 <strong>White-winged Tern<\/strong>, 8 <strong>Whiskered Tern<\/strong>, about 15 <strong>Red-necked Phalarope<\/strong>, two <strong>Black-headed Gull<\/strong>, and the surprise of the morning were 6 <strong>Garganey<\/strong> in flight offshore. <strong>Grey-tailed Tattler<\/strong> and <strong>Common Sandpiper<\/strong> could be found on the rocky coastline. In the afternoon, at a patch along the Nakdong (JL only) were 2 <strong>Wood Sandpiper<\/strong>, 1 <strong>Common Tern<\/strong>, and 5 <strong>White-winged Tern<\/strong> feeding in a marshy pond. At the estuary there were <strong>Dunlin<\/strong>, <strong>Common Redshank<\/strong>, <strong>Terek Sandpiper<\/strong>, <strong>Red-necked Stint<\/strong>, <strong>Sanderling<\/strong>, and <strong>Common Greenshank<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bird News from Jason Loghry with Nial Moores The temperature was surprisingly cool (around 20\u00b0), with strong winds and torrential rain drenching us for most of the morning.
