A day-hike around Mudeungsan resulted in approximately 30 species being seen, including some personal firsts (and a lifer) for the Gwangju area.  Highlights of the 9hr hike included singing <strong>Asian Stubtails (9)<\/strong>, <strong>Japanese Bush Warblers (14)<\/strong>, and <strong>Eastern Crowned Warblers (2)<\/strong>.  The first <strong>Oriental Cuckoos (3)<\/strong> of the year were heard, as were newly arrived <strong>Siberian Blue Robins (3)<\/strong>, a life bird for me.  <strong>Varied Tits<\/strong> were observed feeding fledglings; <strong>White&#8217;s Thrush<\/strong> and <strong>Pale Thrush<\/strong> were in song.
