several skulking in the woods<\/li>\n<li><b>Dusky Thrush<\/b>\u00a0<i>Turdus eunomus<\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Red-flanked Bluetail<\/b>\u00a0<i>Tarsiger cyanurus;<\/i>\u00a0at least 20, mostly females<\/li>\n<li><b>Stejneger\u2019s Stonechat<\/b>\u00a0<i>Saxicola stejnegeri;<\/i>\u00a0numbers up to almost a dozen<\/li>\n<li><b>Blue Rock Thrush<\/b>\u00a0<i>Monticola solitarius<\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>White Wagtail<\/b>\u00a0<i>Motacilla alba<\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Buff-bellied Pipit<\/b>\u00a0<i>Anthus rubescens<\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Brambling<\/b>\u00a0<i>Fringilla montifringilla<\/i>; the most numerous migrant on Mara, over 40 seen<\/li>\n<li><b>Grey-capped Greenfinch<\/b>\u00a0<i>Chloris sinica<\/i><\/li>\n<li><b>Yellow-throated Bunting<\/b>\u00a0<i>Emberiza elegans<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Back on southwestern Jeju, I encountered groups of 12-20\u00a0<b>Red-flanked Bluetails<\/b>\u00a0at 4 different patches of coastal woods.\u00a0 There were more males in the mix compared to Mara, and they were all feeding on sunny paths at forest edges.\u00a0 Also notable on \u2018mainland Jeju, one\u00a0<b>Japanese Quail<\/b>, and a group of shorebirds made up of nine\u00a0<b>Kentish Plover<\/b>, two\u00a0<b>Dunlin<\/b>, and one\u00a0<b>Red-necked Stint<\/b>.\u00a0 Nearby, another\u00a0<b>Brown-headed Thrush<\/b>\u00a0was heard, and a<b>White\u2019s Thrush<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b><i>personata<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<b>Black-faced Bunting<\/b>\u00a0were seen.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday April 5<sup>th<\/sup>, in spite of a full day of birding in the hills, the most notable birds were encountered before I got out of bed &#8211;
