There remains an assortment of waterfowl, which seem a bit different to previous years, including the following:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Greater White-fronted Goose<\/b>\u00a0<i>Anser albifrons<\/i>. One lost-looking juvenile is the first I have seen here.<\/li>\n<li><b>Ruddy Shelduck<\/b>\u00a0<i>Tadorna ferruginea<\/i>. Eight. This is the first winter that they&#8217;ve appeared here.<\/li>\n<li><b>Mandarin Duck<\/b>\u00a0<i>Aix galericulata<\/i>. 129 counted. In unusually high numbers here this year.<\/li>\n<li><b>Mallard<\/b>\u00a0<i>Anas platyrhynchos<\/i>. (Photographed).<\/li>\n<li><b>Eurasian Teal<\/b>\u00a0<i>Anas crecca<\/i>. (Photographed).<\/li>\n<li><b>Common Pochard<\/b>\u00a0<i>Aythya ferina<\/i>. 1400 at the mouth of the stream.<\/li>\n<li><b>Tufted Duck<\/b>\u00a0<i>Aythya fuligula<\/i>. 800 at the confluence-avoiding the area which was dredged last year.<\/li>\n<li><b>Little Grebe<\/b>\u00a0<i>Tachybaptus ruficollis<\/i>. Three: another apparent first record for this site.<\/li>\n<li><b>Great Crested Grebe<\/b>\u00a0<i>Podiceps cristatus<\/i>. 11 where the stream meets the Han. Another species I&#8217;ve never seen here previously.<\/li>\n<li><b>Great Cormorant<\/b>\u00a0<i>Phalacrocorax carbo<\/i>. There were 5-600 here on the 1st. An unprecedented number for this site.<\/li>\n<li><b>Peregrine Falcon<\/b>\u00a0<i>Falco peregrinus<\/i>. One 1Y bird. Rarely recorded in the Seoul city area.<\/li>\n<li><b>Eurasian Coot<\/b>\u00a0<i>Fulica atra<\/i>. Three -a scarce record for this particular site.<\/li>\n<li><b>Common Sandpiper<\/b>\u00a0<i>Actitis hypoleucos<\/i>. One.<\/li>\n<li><b>Vega Gull<\/b>\u00a0<i>Larus vegae<\/i>. One contrasting clearly with the 20 or so Mongolian Gulls.
