Despite the warm weather, a hint of coming winter: among many of the same waterfowl species reported by Tim Edelsten on October 5 (e.g.\u00a0<b>Gadwall<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Eurasian Wigeon<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Eurasian Teal<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Mallards<\/b>, and\u00a0<b>Eastern Spot-billed Ducks<\/b>), 7\u00a0<b>Common Shelduck<\/b>\u00a0and a raft of a dozen<b>Common Pochards<\/b>. 2 separate flocks of\u00a0<b>Common Greenshank<\/b>\u00a0(c. 400 and 30) and single-digit counts of<b>Common Redshank<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Common Sandpiper<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Green Sandpiper<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Black-tailed Godwit<\/b>. (Only) 2\u00a0<b>Black-faced Spoonbills<\/b>\u00a0in flight. A single\u00a0<b>Little Grebe<\/b>\u00a0and several\u00a0<b>Great Cormorants<\/b>. As in T.E.\u2019s visit,\u00a0<b>Great<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Little<\/b>\u00a0and<b>Intermediate Egrets<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Grey Herons<\/b>. A young\u00a0<b>Moorhen<\/b>. A flyover\u00a0<b>Peregrine falcon<\/b>. 2 calling then showing<b>Black-faced Buntings<\/b>.
