October 17, Chungrangcheon, Seoul

Bird News from Bernhard Seliger

After years of construction the new bridge over the Chungrangcheon near Seoul Forest, where the small rivulet meets Han river, has been finalized  and the temporary bridge dismantled. This might mean a little less disturbance (finally) for  the wintering birds in this spot. Visiting there on October 17th, around 150 Mandarin Duck were the first arrivals, together with a few Eastern Spot-billed Duck, Grey Heron, Great Cormorant, Common Gull and a single Little Egret plus numerous Vinous-throated Parrotbill in the bushes along the river banks.
