Digging Deep

Jason Loghry, August 9th 2012

In an effort to continuously sharpen and improve my shorebird identification skills when I’m not in the field or with my great mentor, I often read blogs, forums, and websites – especially the archive sections. Recently, I discovered (a late discovery) and have become addicted to a new favourite:

Dig Deep” – Started in 2006 (a great archive!), it is written and updated by wetland expert and birder extraordinaire Dave Bakewell.

Here is something I was reading today and had to share, a fantastic three part series on feather wear and moult in waders:

Part 1: Feather wear and moult in Waders
Part 2: Juveniles
Part 3: Juvenile to 1st winter

Enjoy !
