“Korea Through Her Birds”: Robin Newlin

Birds Korea, July 4th 2013

Congratulations to Professor Robin Newlin for the successful release of his book, Korea Through Her Birds, published by Seoul Selection in late June.

According to the online introduction, the book “seeks to introduce the birds: through photographs, through descriptions of their lives, and through the ways our different cultures, Western and Asian both, perceive them”.

Presently in the United States of America, Professor Newlin has a long and deep connection with the Republic of Korea (and happily, also with Birds Korea). Many of his beautiful images are therefore probably already familiar to our members and website visitors (see his images of Scaly-sided Merganser in the Gallery or visit the Bird News Archives for example, including most recently May 2013). His images invariably reveal a deep respect and love of bird and place.
