Good news. Just got word from Jeju this morning that the IUCN motion on “Improving conservation and sustainability of the Yellow Sea” has been adopted with recommendation for changes in policy implemented by the central government of the ROK.

Here’s a link to IUCN motion 066:

What could this mean for intertidal wetlands and what could this mean for Spoon-billed Sandpiper?

Also, what does it mean for Motion 032, which directly affects the “Conservation of the East Asian-Australasian Flyway intertidal zone, with particular reference to the Yellow Sea and its threatened birds”?

Here’s a link to IUCN motion 032:

Let’s hope this issue continues to move in a positive direction!
