BSCP Awareness Campaign

Bangladesh Spoon-billed Sandpiper Conservation Project conducts research and promotes conservation of shorebirds in Bangladesh with special focus on the Critically Endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper. The project has been working in an organized manner along the coast of Bangladesh especially on Sonadia Island since 2009. The project discovered local hunters have been hunting Spoon-billed Sandpiper along with other shorebirds on Sonadia Island. Since 2011 the project is working with the bird-trappers to provide sustainable alternative income generation options and things are changing. This video highlights one of the recent awareness campaigns by BSCP on Sonadia Island, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
