Bird News from Robin Newlin

Warm and calm on the afternoon: relatively few birds in evidence. 1 Yellow-browed Warbler calling, c. 12 Olive-backed Pipits, 1 or 2 overhead flocks of Eurasian Siskins (c. 25 and 40, respectively), a smaller flock (14) ofBramblings, 2 Blue Rockthrush, small numbers (30+) of Black-faced Buntings, about 8 Chestnut Buntings, several very vocal Bull-headed Shrikes, 1 Japanese Sparrowhawk and 1 Eurasian Sparrowhawk, a flock (heard only) of Japanese White Eyes, 1 or 2 (again only heard) Daurian Redstarts.
