Migration of Rooks through Pyongyang, 9 March

On March 9, ten thousands of Rook Corvus frugilegus could be seen on migration in Pyongyang, North Korea (DPRK), circling the city before roosting on trees at the banks of Potong River. In the south (in the ROK), you can also see flocks of many tens of thousands of Rook in Buan County and Ulsan in the winter. Now it is spring and these very same birds are on their northward migration back up through Korea, back to their breeding grounds in Northern China, Russia and Mongolia.
