Korean Environmental Issues on the IUCN Website

To get some kind of a feel for the realities of present-day environmental conservation both in the ROK and around the world, please have a look at some of the posts relating to Korean Environmental Issues on the IUCN website at:

Among these, the July 10th email by a massive coalition of Korean environmental and social organisations (“Email from Civic Groups in Korea”, in the section on “Related Information”) and the July 18th formal statement by the IUCN provide, for now at least, the starkest of contrasts.

Let’s hope that some kind of consensus (on at least some of these issues) can emerge before the WCC opens in September.
